अथान्येन सुतीक्ष्णेन सर्वावरणभेदिना । शतानीको जयत्सेनं विव्याध हृदये भूशम्,तत्पश्चात् समस्त आवरणोंका भेदन करनेमें समर्थ दूसरे तीक्ष्ण बाणद्वारा शतानीकने जयत्सेनके वक्ष:स्थलमें गहरी चोट पहुँचायी
athānyena sutīkṣṇena sarvāvaraṇabhedinā | śatānīko jayatsenaṁ vivyādha hṛdaye bhṛśam ||
サンジャヤは言った。ついでシャターニカは、あらゆる鎧をも貫くほどに鋭利な別の矢を放ち、ジャヤツェーナの心臓のあたりを激しく射抜いた。この場面は戦場の冷厳な精密さを示す。武の技と殺意が私情を凌駕し、戦の倫理的重荷は憎しみではなく、規律ある義務の遂行によって担われるのである。
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the harsh reality of kṣatriya-duty in war: action is executed with trained precision and resolve. Ethically, it points to the burden of violence—skill and determination can be dharmic within the battlefield role, yet the consequences remain grave and irreversible.
Sañjaya reports that Śatānīka uses a second, extremely sharp, armor-piercing arrow and drives it deep into Jayatsena’s chest/heart area, indicating a decisive and potentially fatal blow amid the ongoing combat.
