स्थिरां युद्धे मतिं कृत्वा भीष्ममेवाभिदुद्रुवु: । भीष्मके द्वारा पीड़ित हुए पांचाल और सोमक युद्धका दृढ़ निश्चय लेकर भीष्मकी ही ओर दौड़े ।। धृष्टद्युम्नमुखा श्चापि पार्था: शान्तनवं रणे

sthirāṃ yuddhe matiṃ kṛtvā bhīṣmam evābhidudruvuḥ | bhīṣmakāṇāṃ pīḍitāḥ pāñcālāḥ somakāś ca yuddhasya dṛḍha-niścayaṃ kṛtvā bhīṣmasyaivābhimukhaṃ dudruvuḥ || dhṛṣṭadyumna-mukhāś cāpi pārthāḥ śāntanavaṃ raṇe ||

サンジャヤは言った。「戦において心を堅く定め、彼らはただちにビ―シュマへと突進した。ビ―シュマの軍勢に悩まされ、討ち伏せられていたパンチャーラとソーマカは、戦う決意を固め、ビ―シュマその人に向かって駆け寄ったのである。ドリシュタデュムナに率いられ、プリターの子らもまた、乱戦の中でシャーンタヌの末裔に挑み進んだ。この瞬間は、戦における倫理的選択を示す――甚大な危険を承知で、破滅の主因に正面から対峙し、味方を守り戦場の均衡を取り戻すという義務の行いである。」
