भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ६६: तुमुलसंग्रामवर्णनम्
The Tumult of Battle Described
पोथयन् रथवृन्दानि वाजिवृन्दानि चाभिभू: । कर्षयन् रथवृन्दानि बाहुवेगेन पाण्डव:
pothayan rathavṛndāni vājivṛndāni cābhibhūḥ | karṣayan rathavṛndāni bāhuvegena pāṇḍavaḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。パーンダヴァは戦車の群れと馬の大軍を圧倒して打ち倒し、さらにその腕力のみで戦車の隊列を引きずり、裂き、散らした。この句は、戦場では個の武勇と統制された力が目前の勝敗を決する一方で、戦争全体はなお正しき義務（ダルマ）とその報いという問いに縛られていることを示す。
