भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ६२: वासुदेवमहात्म्यप्रशंसा (देव–ब्रह्मसंवादः)

यदि नाहं परित्याज्यो युवा भ्यामिह संयुगे । विक्रमेणानुरूपेण युध्येतां पुरुषर्षभी,“यदि युद्धमें आप दोनोंको मेरा परित्याग करना उचित नहीं जान पड़ता हो तो द्रोणाचा्य और आप दोनों श्रेष्ठ पुरुष अपने योग्य पराक्रम प्रकट करते हुए युद्ध कीजिये'

sañjaya uvāca |

yadi nāhaṃ parityājyo yuvābhyām iha saṃyuge |

vikrameṇānurūpeṇa yudhyetāṃ puruṣarṣabhī ||

サンジャヤは言った。「もしこの戦場において、汝ら二人が我を見捨てるのを正しからずと思うなら、ドローナアーチャールヤと汝ら二人——人中の雄牛よ——は、己の力にふさわしい武勇を示して戦われよ。」
