Educational Q&A

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in action: steadfast courage and coordinated effort can reverse chaos in war. Ethically, it underscores that valor and discipline—rather than panic—determine outcomes when conflict escalates.

Sañjaya describes a moment of battlefield collapse: as many chariots scatter in flight, Abhimanyu and Sātyaki, fighting together from one chariot, press the advantage and inflict heavy losses on the troops led by Subala’s son (Śakuni), striking in all directions.
