Daiva–Puruṣakāra Discourse and the Elephant-Corps Engagement (भीमगजानीक-सम्भ्रान्ति)
भीमसेन परित्यज्य संन्यवर्तन्त चेदय: । महाबली चेदि सैनिक यथाशक्ति पुरुषार्थ प्रकट करके भीमसेनको छोड़कर भाग चले
bhīmasenaṁ parityajya saṁnyavartanta cedayāḥ | mahābalī cedi-sainikā yathāśakti puruṣārthaṁ prakaṭya bhīmasenaṁ tyaktvā palāyanta ||
サンジャヤは言った。「チェーディの戦士たちは、いかに剛勇とはいえ、力の限り武勇を示した。だがついにビーマセーナを見捨て、引き返して逃げ去った。」この光景は、戦場の恐怖の中では、圧倒的な力に直面したとき勇気が崩れ、退却へと変わりうることを物語っている。
