अध्याय ५५ — भीष्मस्य प्रचण्डविक्रमः, अर्जुनप्रत्युत्तरं, कृष्णस्य चक्रोद्यतिः
Chapter 55: Bhīṣma’s onslaught, Arjuna’s counter, and Kṛṣṇa’s raised discus
इति श्रीमहा भारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि कौरवव्यूहरचनायामेकपज्चाशत्तमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate bhīṣmaparvaṇi bhīṣmavadhaparvaṇi kauravavyūharacanāyām ekapañcāśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ
ここに、『シュリー・マハाभारata』の『ビーシュマ・パルヴァ』—ビーシュマの倒れる段—において、クル族の戦陣配置を述べる第五十一章は終わる。この奥書は転換を告げる。軍勢の厳粛な整列は、戦の倫理的重みと、尊きビーシュマの迫り来る没落を物語の枠として浮かび上がらせるのである。
