niṣādaiḥ sahitaś cāpi pṛṣṭham āsīd yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | pakṣau tu bhīmasenaś ca dhṛṣṭadyumnaś ca pārṣataḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「ユディシュティラはニシャーダ族を伴って後衛を守り、両翼にはビーマセーナと、パールシャタ(ドルパダ)の子ドリシュタデュムナが陣取っていた。」
संजय उवाच
Even amid warfare, order and responsibility matter: the rear—often most vulnerable—must be guarded with steadiness, while the flanks require strength and capable command. The verse highlights leadership that protects allies and maintains disciplined formation rather than reckless aggression.
Sañjaya describes the Pāṇḍava deployment: Yudhiṣṭhira, with Niṣāda troops, is positioned at the rear, while Bhīma and Dhṛṣṭadyumna hold the two wings of the formation, indicating a structured battle array and clear assignment of roles.
