Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
प्रीतस्तेडभिगमेनाहं जयं तव नराधिप । आशासिष्ये सदोत्थाय सत्यमेतद् ब्रवीमि ते
sañjaya uvāca |
prītaste'bhigamenāhaṃ jayaṃ tava narādhipa |
āśāsiṣye sadotthāya satyam etad bravīmi te ||
サンジャヤは言った。「王よ、あなたの来訪に私は大いに喜んでおります。日ごとに起き上がり、絶えずあなたの勝利のために祝福を捧げましょう。これは真実としてあなたに申し上げます。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights truthful speech and loyal goodwill expressed through respectful conduct—rising up and offering sincere blessings—especially in a tense wartime setting where words can be used either to flatter or to speak honestly.
Sañjaya addresses the king, expressing happiness at his arrival and promising that he will regularly rise and offer auspicious wishes for the king’s victory, emphasizing that he is speaking sincerely.
