Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
सहदेव उवाच अस्मिन् रणसमूहे वै वर्तमाने महाभये । उत्सृज्य क्व नु गन्तासि शत्रूनभिमुखो नृूप
sahadeva uvāca | asmin raṇasamūhe vai vartamāne mahābhaye | utsṛjya kva nu gantāsi śatrūn-abhimukho nṛpa ||
サハデーヴァは言った。「王よ、この戦のただ中、軍勢が群れ集い、大いなる危難が立ち現れているというのに、われらを置き去りにして、敵に面しつつ、どこへ行かれるのですか。」
सहदेव उवाच
In a moment of collective danger, a ruler’s dharma is steadfast leadership—remaining with one’s own forces, not abandoning companions, and meeting the enemy with courage and responsibility.
Amid the gathered armies and the onset of intense fear on the battlefield, Sahadeva challenges the king’s apparent movement away from his own side, questioning where he intends to go while turning toward the enemy and leaving his companions behind.
