Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
साधु साध्विति सर्वत्र निश्चेरु: स्तुतिसंहिता: । वाच: पुण्या: कीर्तिमतां मनोहदयहर्षणा:
sādhu sādhv iti sarvatra niśceruḥ stutisaṃhitāḥ | vācaḥ puṇyāḥ kīrtimatāṃ manohṛdayaharṣaṇāḥ ||
サञ्जयは言った。至るところで賛嘆の声がほとばしった。「善いぞ、善いぞ!」—讃辞に満ちた言葉である。それは名ある者たちの口から発せられた吉祥にして功徳ある言葉で、心と胸を歓ばせ、栄えあるパーンドゥの子らを称えた。
संजय उवाच
Public acclaim is portrayed as naturally arising for righteous and valorous conduct: ‘puṇyāḥ vācaḥ’ suggests that praise becomes ethically meaningful when it celebrates dharmic excellence and uplifts the listener’s mind and heart.
Sañjaya reports that, in response to the Pāṇḍavas’ notable deed (in the surrounding battle context), people on all sides spontaneously voice ‘sādhu sādhu’—eulogistic, auspicious words that spread and hearten those who hear them.
