सहजंएं कर्म कौन्तेय सदोषमपि न त्यजेत् । सर्वारम्भा हि दोषेण धूमेनाग्निरिवावृता:
Transliteration
sahajaṁ karma kaunteya sadoṣam api na tyajet | sarvārambhā hi doṣeṇa dhūmenāgnir ivāvṛtāḥ ||
Translation
「おおクンティーの子よ、自らの性（さが）とともに生まれた務めは、たとえ過ちを伴っていても捨ててはならぬ。あらゆる企ては必ず何らかの欠陥に覆われる――火が煙に包まれるように。」
