Divine power is tempered by divine compassion: after revealing an awe-inspiring, fear-inducing manifestation, the Lord returns to a gentle, approachable form and reassures the devotee. The ethical emphasis is that spiritual experience should culminate in steadiness, trust, and restored capacity to act in dharma, not paralysis by fear.
Sañjaya narrates that Kṛṣṇa, after speaking to Arjuna, withdraws the overwhelming vision and shows His familiar form again (understood in this context as the four-armed form), then adopts a calm, benign appearance and comforts Arjuna, who has become frightened by what he has seen.
