अर्जुन बोले--मुझपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये आपने जो परम गोपनीय अध्यात्मविषयक वचनः अर्थात् उपदेश कहा, उससे मेरा यह अज्ञान नष्ट हो गया हैः ।। भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुती विस्तरशो मया । त्वत्त: कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यमपि चाव्ययम्,क्योंकि हे कमलनेत्र! मैंने आपसे भूतोंकी उत्पत्ति और प्रलय विस्तारपूर्वक सुने हैं तथा आपकी अविनाशी महिमा भी सुनी हैः
arjuna uvāca—mayy anugrahārthaṁ tvayoktaṁ paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam | etad ajñānaṁ me naṣṭam || bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ śrutau vistaraso mayā | tvattaḥ kamala-patrākṣa māhātmyam api cāvyayam ||
アルジュナは言った。「我に憐れみを垂れ、あなたはアディヤートマ（内なる真理）に関する至上にして最秘の御言葉を説かれました。それによって、わたしの無明は滅しました。蓮華の葉の眼をもつ御方よ、わたしはあなたから、衆生の生起と滅尽を詳しく聞き、またあなたの不滅の大いなる威徳をも聞きました。」
