न चक्कुस्ते रुजं तस्य स्वर्णपड्खा: शिलाशिता: । महारथी शिखण्डीने जिन महान्‌ बाणोंका प्रयोग किया था

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | na cākkuṣṭe rujaṃ tasya svarṇapakṣāḥ śilāśitāḥ |

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。しかれども、その矢は—金の羽を備え、石にて研ぎ澄まされていたにもかかわらず—ビーシュマの身に傷も痛みも生じさせ得なかった。この語りは、戦の暴威のただ中にあっても、誓願とダルマ、そして定められた時に根ざすビーシュマの驚くべき不動心と、神護にも似た決意を示す。武の巧みのみでは、それに及ばぬのである。
