श्वेतच्छत्रसहस्राणि सध्वजाश्न महारथा: । विकीर्णा: समदृश्यन्त शतशो5थ सहस््रश:,सहस्रों सफेद छत्र इधर-उधर गिरे थे, ध्वजों-सहित सैकड़ों और हजारों महारथी सब ओर बिखरे दिखायी देते थे

Transliteration

śvetacchatrasahasrāṇi sadhvajāś ca mahārathāḥ | vikīrṇāḥ samadṛśyanta śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。「白い天蓋（パラソル）が幾千と地に散り、旗印をなお帯びた大車戦士たちが、幾百、幾千と倒れて四方に横たわっているのが見えた。戦場の華やぎは、戦の代価を告げる冷厳な証しへと変わり、位階と名誉は、広がる荒廃のただ中で倒れた徽章にまで貶められていた。」
