पार्थहेतो: पराक्रान्तो भीष्मस्यायो धन प्रति । राजन! भीष्मजीके साथ युद्ध करनेमें अर्जुनकी सहायताके लिये पराक्रम करनेवाले सुभद्राकुमार अभिमन्युने राजकुमार बृहद्वलके साथ युद्ध किया
sañjaya uvāca | pārtha-hetoḥ parākrānto bhīṣmasya āyodhanaṃ prati | rājan, bhīṣmajīke sātha yuddha karane meṃ arjunakī sahāyatā ke liye parākrama karanevāle subhadrā-kumāra abhimanyune rāja-kumāra bṛhadvalake sātha yuddha kiyā |
サンジャヤは言った。「大王よ、スバドラーの勇猛なる子アビマンニュは、アルジュナのために進み出て、ビーシュマの戦列の前面へと迫った。ビーシュマと戦うアルジュナを助けんとして、彼は王子ブリハドヴァラと刃を交えた。この一幕は、戦の道義的重みのただ中にあっても、己の大義と血縁に尽くす忠義の務めを浮き彫りにする。」
