Bhīṣma’s Fall, the Arrow-bed (śara-talpa), and the Establishment of Guard
ध्रुवमास्थाय बीभत्सुरुत्तमास्त्राणि संयुगे | अपास्यान्यान् रणे योधानभ्येष्यति पितामहम्,“इससे यह निश्चय जान पड़ता है कि अर्जुन युद्धस्थलमें उत्तम अस्त्रोंका आश्रय ले दूसरे योद्धाओंको दूर हटाकर रणभूमिमें पितामह भीष्मके पास पहुँच जायँगे
dhruvam āsthāya bībhatsur uttamāstrāṇi saṁyuge | apāsyānyān raṇe yodhān abhy eṣyati pitāmaham ||
サンジャヤは言った。「確かにアルジュナは、戦のただ中で最上の武器に堅く拠り、他の戦士たちを戦場から退けて、ついには祖父たるビーシュマその人に挑みかかるであろう。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights resolute action guided by duty: in a dharma-conflict, a warrior may need focused, disciplined force—removing distractions and lesser engagements—to face the central moral and strategic challenge directly.
Sanjaya predicts that Arjuna will employ his best weapons, clear away other fighters on the battlefield, and advance specifically toward Bhishma, the revered grandsire and chief pillar of the Kaurava army.
