(Sainyasaṃniveśaḥ) — Deployment, Omens, and Yuddha-Dharma Conventions
yāvat tapati sūryo hi jambūdvīpasya maṇḍalam | tāvad eva samāyātaṃ balaṃ pārthivasattama, nṛpaśreṣṭha |
The verse highlights the immense reach of the mobilization—armies converging from the full known world—implying that when rulers choose war, the consequences are not local but civilizational, engaging rājadharma and the ethical burden of leadership.
Vaiśaṃpāyana describes to the listener that forces from across Jambūdvīpa had assembled for the coming battle, emphasizing how widely the call to war had drawn kings and their troops.
