Transliteration

dākṣiṇātya adhika-pāṭhake 1220 śloka milākara kula 1273 ślokāḥ santi | āśvamedhika-parva sampūrṇam | anuṣṭup (anya baḍe chanda) baḍe chandōṃ ko 32 akṣaroṃ ke kula-yoga ko anuṣṭup mānakara ginane para uttara-bhāratīya-pāṭhase liye gaye 2747 || (122) 168

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは奥書き風に記す。南方本（ダクシナーティヤ）では一二二〇偈が追加され、この部分の総数は一二七三偈となり、かくしてアシュヴァメーディカ・パルヴァは終結する。また韻律の算定においては、より長い韻律をアヌシュトゥブ相当数に換算することがあり、三十二音節の総和をアヌシュトゥブ一つとして数える。その方法によれば、北方本は二七四七という数になる。ここは物語の教訓ではなく、編纂上・韻律上の集計記録であり、パルヴァの正式な完結と本文異同の統計を示すものである。
