Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | upasthitaḥ kālo 'yam abhito vartate hayaḥ | māghī ca paurṇamāsīyaṃ māsaḥ śeṣo vṛkodara ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「おおヴリコーダラよ、定められた時はすでに近く、祭馬もまた近くにある。マाघ月の満月が迫っている。残るはただ一月のみだ。」文脈においてこの言葉は、アシュヴァメーダ（馬祀）に向け、時機を失わぬ規律ある行動を促す—戦後に秩序と正統性を回復するための儀礼として、準備、祭時の遵守、そして法（ダルマ）への責務を強調している。
