अश्वमेधीयस्य हयस्य दक्षिणापश्चिमगमनम् — The Sacrificial Horse’s Southern and Western Circuit
सम्भ्रान्तनरनागाश्वमपतद् विद्रुतं बलम् । हतविध्वस्तभूयिष्ठमावर्तत मुहुर्मुहु:
sambhrāntanaranāgāśvam apatat vidrutaṃ balam | hatavidhvastabhūyiṣṭham āvartata muhurmuhuḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。人も象も馬も取り乱し、軍勢は恐慌に投げ込まれて崩れ、逃げ散った。大半は討たれ砕かれ、なおも幾度となく戦場を回り返し、破滅のただ中で踏みとどまることも、定まった道筋を得ることもできなかった。
