dhātavo jātarūpasya raśmayaḥ savitur yathā | rakṣyante te kuberaspa sahāyair udyatāyuthaiḥ ||
The verse teaches that wealth and resources are not merely ‘there for the taking’; they are embedded in an ordered system of guardianship—natural and divine—so desire must be tempered by realism, restraint, and respect for rightful protection.
Saṁvarta uses a vivid simile—sunrays guarding gold—to explain that Kubera, supported by organized forces, protects the treasures; it underscores the formidable protection surrounding wealth and the difficulty (and impropriety) of seizing it by mere ambition.
