Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfast courage: even when defeat is certain and death is near, a warrior is expected to uphold resolve and confront the foe with full effort, embodying perseverance and honor in battle.

Vaiśampāyana describes a battle scene in which Arjuna, radiant and overpowering, is opposed by Saindhava fighters. Though Arjuna is killing them, they continue to engage him vigorously, fighting with all their strength and enthusiasm.
