Aśvamedha-dīkṣā, Vyāsa’s horse-release, and Arjuna’s departure with Gāṇḍīva (आश्वमेधिक-दीक्षा तथा हय-उत्सर्गः)
न्यवेदयदमेयात्मा कृष्णद्वैपायनाय वै | राजेन्द्र! उन्होंने मनमें जिन-जिन सामानोंको एकत्र करनेका संकल्प किया था, उन सबको जुटाकर धर्मपुत्र अमेयात्मा राजा युधिष्ठिरने श्रीकृष्णद्वैपायन व्यासजीको सूचना दी ८६ || ततो<ब्रवीन्महातेजा व्यासो धर्मात्मजं नूपम्
nyavedayad ameyātmā kṛṣṇadvaipāyanāya vai | rājendra! manasi yān yān sāmagrīṃ samāhartum asaṅkalpayat, tān sarvān saṃgṛhya dharmaputro ’meyātmā rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ śrīkṛṣṇadvaipāyanaṃ vyāsaṃ nyavedayat || tato ’bravīn mahātejā vyāso dharmātmajaṃ nṛpam ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「王の中の最上よ。法の子ユディシュティラは、心に定めた供物・資具をことごとく集め終えると、聖なるクリシュナ・ドヴァイパーヤナ(ヴィヤーサ)にその旨を告げた。すると大威光のヴィヤーサは、その正しき王子に向かって語り始めた。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler’s dharma includes disciplined preparation and transparent consultation with wise authorities. Yudhiṣṭhira’s act of gathering the needed requisites and then informing Vyāsa models accountable leadership guided by spiritual counsel.
Yudhiṣṭhira completes the collection of the materials he had resolved to assemble (in the context of the ongoing royal-sacrificial preparations) and reports this readiness to Vyāsa; Vyāsa then begins to speak to him.
