प्रतिजज्ञे च दाशा्हस्तस्य जीवितमच्युत: । अब्रवीच्च विशुद्धात्मा सर्व विश्रावयन् जगत्,तत्पश्चात् विशुद्ध हृदयवाले और कभी अपनी महिमासे विचलित न होनेवाले भगवान् श्रीकृष्णने उस बालकको जीवित करनेकी प्रतिज्ञा की और सम्पूर्ण जगत्को सुनाते हुए इस प्रकार कहा--
pratijajñe ca dāśārhas tasya jīvitam acyutaḥ | abravīc ca viśuddhātmā sarvaṁ viśrāvayan jagat ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ついでダシャールハ族のアチュタ、清らかな魂をもつクリシュナは、その幼子の命を甦らせると誓い、全世界に聞こえるようにして次のように告げた——
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous vow made for the protection of life should be upheld openly and without wavering; moral authority is strengthened when compassion and responsibility are declared and acted upon in public.
Kṛṣṇa, identified as Acyuta and a Dāśārha, promises to restore the life of a child and then proclaims his intention aloud so that all present—and symbolically the whole world—may hear what he is about to do.
