इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ााभारत आश्वमेधिकपर्वके अन्तर्गत अनुगीतापर्वमें परीक्षित॒के जन्मका वर्णनविषयक छाछठवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṁ śrī-mahābhārata āśvamedhika-parvake antargata anugītā-parvaṇi parīkṣitasya janma-varṇana-viṣayakaḥ ṣaṭ-ṣaṣṭitamaḥ adhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ abhavat
かくして、尊き『マハーバーラタ』のアシュヴァメーディカ・パルヴァ（Aśvamedhika Parva）に収められたアヌギーター（Anugītā）章のうち、パリークシット（Parīkṣit）の誕生を語る第六十六章は終わる。語り手はここに一段の完結を告げ、戦後におけるダルマの継承としてこの出来事を位置づける。すなわち、血統と責務、そして正しき秩序の回復が、次なる後継の到来によって改めて確証されるのである。
