Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit
so ’yaṃ jāto mṛtastāta paśyainaṃ puruṣarṣabha | uttarāṃ ca subhadrāṃ ca draupadīṃ māṃ ca mādhava ||
The verse foregrounds śaraṇāgati (seeking refuge) and karuṇā (compassion): in a moment of utter helplessness, the speaker appeals to Kṛṣṇa’s mercy to restore life and thereby safeguard vulnerable women and the future of the lineage.
A child is presented as stillborn, and an urgent plea is made to Kṛṣṇa (Mādhava) to look upon him with compassion, revive him, and thus protect Uttarā, Subhadrā, Draupadī, and the speaker—signaling the crisis and hope surrounding the survival of the Kuru line.
