Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes that success—especially the gaining of desired wealth or outcomes—should be sought through winning divine grace by aligning speech, discernment, and action in reverent worship, rather than through mere force or cunning.

The narrator (Vaiśampāyana) reports a resolve: they will please Mahādeva (Śiva) and his attendants through devoted propitiation using word, thought, and deed, and thereby surely obtain the sought-after wealth.
