Uttanka’s Guru-Śuśrūṣā and the Commission to Retrieve the Maṇikuṇḍalas
Uttaṅkaṃ ślakṣaṇayā vācā sāntvayann idam abravīt | uttaṅkake aisā kahanepara mahābuddhimān janārdanane unheṃ madhura vāṇīdvārā sāntvanā dete hue kahā—
The verse highlights dharmic communication: a wise person responds to agitation or harshness not with escalation but with gentle, reassuring speech that calms the other and prepares the ground for ethical instruction.
Uttaṅka has spoken (likely with distress or intensity), and Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana), described as highly intelligent, begins his reply by consoling Uttaṅka with sweet, gentle words.
