जितशिक्षोदरो मैत्र: शिष्टाचारसमन्वित: । वैणवीं धारयेद्‌ यष्टिं सोदक॑ च कमण्डलुम्‌

Transliteration

jitāśikṣodaro maitraḥ śiṣṭācārasamanvitaḥ | vaiṇavīṁ dhārayed yaṣṭiṁ sodakaṁ ca kamaṇḍalum ||

Translation

風神ヴァーユは言った。「舌と腹の衝動を征し、万人に友愛を示し、教養ある者の作法を具えた者であれ。竹の杖と、水を満たした行者の水瓶（カマンダル）を携え、節制と模範の礼法のうちに生きよ。」
