Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa
ज्ञानवन्तश्न ये केचिदलुब्धा जितमन्यव: । प्रसन्नमनसो धीरा निर्ममा निरहंकृता:
jñānavantaś ca ye kecid alubdhā jitamanyavaḥ | prasannamanaso dhīrā nirmamā nirahaṅkṛtāḥ ||
ヴァーユは言った。「この世にあって真に賢き者—貪りなく、怒りを克服し、心は澄みわたり安らかで、堅忍不動、執着も所有の思いもなく、我慢（エゴ）もない者たち—は解脱して至上の自己（最高我）に到達する。さらに、その至上主の栄光を悟る者は、功徳を伴う最上の吉祥なる帰趣を得る。」
