Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa
एवं हि यो वेद गुहाशयं प्रभु परं पुराणं पुरुष विश्वरूपम् । हिरण्मयं बुद्धिमतां परां गतिं स बुद्धिमान बुद्धिमतीत्य तिषछठति
evaṁ hi yo veda guhāśayaṁ prabhuṁ paraṁ purāṇaṁ puruṣaṁ viśvarūpam | hiraṇmayaṁ buddhimatāṁ parāṁ gatiṁ sa buddhimān buddhim atītya tiṣṭhati ||
ヴァーユは言った。心の奥の秘められた「洞窟」に住まう至上主—超越にして太古、普遍の姿をもつ宇宙のプルシャ—黄金のごとく輝き（hiraṇmaya）、賢者たちの最高の到達点であるその主を真に知る者は、真の賢者となり、凡庸な知の限界を超えて立つ。この教えは、単なる理屈よりも内なる覚知を上位に置く。内に在す自顕にして自足の主を認めることにより、心の算段の境界を越え、最高の善に至るのである。
