Sāttvika-vṛtta-kathana (Brahmā on the Conduct of Sattva) — Chapter 38
prakīrtitāḥ sattvaguṇā viśeṣato yathādaduktaṃ guṇavṛttam eva ca | naras tu yo veda guṇān imān sadā guṇān sa bhuṅkte na guṇaiḥ sa yujyate ||
Knowing the guṇas (especially sattva) allows one to experience their effects without identification or attachment; enjoyment/experience can occur, yet bondage does not arise when there is clear discernment.
Vāyudeva is speaking, summarizing an earlier exposition: sattva and the workings of the guṇas have been explained, and he concludes that the knower of the guṇas remains unbound even while living amid their operations.
