The Seven Hotṛs and the Debate of Senses and Mind

Craving, nourished by mental fabrications (saṅkalpa) and dreamlike projections (svapna), propels a person toward sense-objects; ethical steadiness requires recognizing this mechanism and restraining the mind from chasing transient pleasures.
The speaker, identified as 'Man' (the mind), describes its own tendency: when a person broods over many desires and takes refuge in fantasies, the pressure of appetite makes them rush toward objects of enjoyment.
