dhṛṣṭaketoś ca bhaginī jarāsaṃdhasutā tathā | etāś cānyāś ca bahvyo vai yoṣitaḥ puruṣarṣabha ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「また、ドリシュタケートゥの妹、さらにジャラーサンダの娘も—ほか多くの女たちとともに—そこにいた。おお、人中の最勝よ。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the breadth of those affected in the post-war world: not only famed kings and heroes, but also women connected through kinship and marriage alliances. It implicitly highlights the ethical weight of conflict—its consequences spread across families and lineages.
Vaiśampāyana continues listing notable women present/concerned in the unfolding events of the Āśramavāsika Parva, naming Dhṛṣṭaketu’s sister and Jarāsandha’s daughter, and indicating that many other women were also involved.
