rakṣāṃsi cāpavartante sthite deve hutāśane | pūrvaṃ piṇḍaṃ pitur dadyāt tato dadyāt pitāmahe ||
ビーシュマは言った。「神なる火アグニ（Agni）が正しく安置され、燃え盛るとき、邪なるものどもは退き、逃げ去る。ピンダ（piṇḍa）を供える儀礼では、まず父にピンダを捧げ、次いで祖父に捧げよ—それが祖先への務めと儀礼の正しい順序である。」
