भीष्म उवाच
Śrāddha should be supported by ethical discernment: invite people of calmness, steadiness, patience, discipline, sense-mastery, and universal benevolence, since the purity of the rite is linked to the character of those who participate.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs on dharma and proper conduct. Here he specifies the kinds of virtuous persons who should be invited to participate in śrāddha (ancestral offerings), emphasizing moral qualities over mere status.
