Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
स्कन्नमात्रं च तच्छुक्रे ख्रुवेण परिगृह्म सः । आज्यवन्मन्त्रतश्नापि सोडजुहोद् भूगुनन्दन
skannamātraṃ ca tacchukre khruveṇa parigṛhya saḥ | ājyavanmantrataś cāpi so 'dya juhod bhṛgunandana ||
ヴァシシュタは言った。「精がこぼれ落ちたその瞬間、彼は祭杓クルヴァ(khruva)で素早くそれを掬い取った。ついで、ああブリグ族の誉れよ、彼は自らマントラを誦して、それを澄ましバター(ghṛta)のごとく火中に供えた。かくして、突発の過失にあっても、彼は儀礼の規律と自制を失わず、逸脱を整えられた行為へと転じ、乱れの因とすることを許さなかった。」
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Even when an involuntary lapse occurs, one should respond with restraint and dharmic discipline—bringing the situation under ethical and ritual order rather than letting it lead to further impropriety.
Vasiṣṭha describes a moment where semen slips/falls; the person immediately collects it with a ritual ladle and offers it into the sacrificial fire with mantras, treating it as an oblation like ghee.
