वसिष्ठ उवाच
That dāna should be complete and dignified: giving a useful, well-provided gift (a cow with her calf, properly covered, with the needed milking vessel) yields great religious merit and leads to an exalted heavenly realm (the world of the Sādhyas).
In a discourse on dharma and gifts, Vasiṣṭha specifies the fruit of a particular form of cow-donation: donating a pale-colored cow along with her calf, clothed and accompanied by a bronze milking vessel, results in attaining the Sādhyas’ realm.
