प्राणदानाद्धि परमं न दानमिह विद्यते । श्रुतं हि ते महाबाहो लोमशस्यापि तद्धबच:

Transliteration

prāṇadānād dhi paramaṁ na dānam iha vidyate | śrutaṁ hi te mahābāho lomaśasyāpi tad vacaḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「まことに、この世に命の施しより高い施しはない。人が他者に食を与えるとき、それはその者に息そのものを与えるに等しい。大いなる腕を持つ者よ、この同じ言葉を仙人ローマシャ（Lomaśa）からも聞いたはずだ。」
