Karma-Phala Rahasya and the Ethics of Dāna (कर्मफल-रहस्यं दानधर्मश्च)

स्त्रियस्त्रिषवर्णं स्नात्वा वायुं पीत्वा क्रतुं लभेत्‌ । स्वर्ग सत्येन लभते दीक्षया कुलमुत्तमम्‌

striyaḥ triṣavarṇaṁ snātvā vāyuṁ pītvā kratuṁ labhet | svargaṁ satyena labhate dīkṣayā kulam uttamam ||

ビーシュマは語った。「女に関わる享楽を捨て、定められた三時に沐浴し、まるで『風を飲む』かのごとき極度の節制に住するなら、祭祀(ヤジュニャ yajña)に等しい功徳を得る。真実(サティヤ)によって人は天界を得、ディークシャー(dīkṣā――清浄なる誓戒の修行)によって優れた家系、すなわち高貴な位と家風の純潔を得る。」
