जो उत्तराषाढ़ा नक्षत्रमें जलपूर्ण कलशसहित सत्तूकी बनी हुई खाद्य वस्तु, घी और प्रचुर माखन दान करता है, वह सम्पूर्ण मनोवांछित भोगोंको प्राप्त कर लेता है ।।
yo uttarāṣāḍhā-nakṣatre jala-pūrṇa-kalaśa-sahitaṃ sattū-kṛtāṃ bhakṣya-vastuṃ ghṛtaṃ ca pracuraṃ navanītaṃ ca dadāti sa sarvān mano-vāñchitān bhogān avāpnoti || dugdhaṃ tv abhijite yoge dattvā madhu-ghṛta-plutaṃ | dharma-nityo manīṣibhyaḥ svarga-loke mahīyate ||
ナーラダは言った。「ウッタラーシャーダーの宿のもとで、水を満たした壺に、炒った大麦粉の食(サットゥ)を添え、さらにギーと多くのバターを施す者は、望んだあらゆる享楽を得る。また法に常に堅固な者が、アビジット宿の合の時に、蜜とギーを加えた乳を賢きバラモンたちに供養すれば、天界において尊ばれる。」
नारद उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined generosity—especially offerings of nourishing staples and ritual necessities, given at auspicious times and directed toward the learned—constitutes dharma and yields both desired worldly well-being and heavenly honor.
Nārada is describing specific charitable acts (dāna) tied to particular nakṣatras (Uttarāṣāḍhā and Abhijit): donating a water pot and foods like sattu, ghee, and butter, and giving milk mixed with honey and ghee to wise Brahmins, explaining the meritorious results of such gifts.
