Daiva–Puruṣakāra Inquiry: Fate and Human Effort
अभ्युत्थानेन दैवस्य समारब्धेन कर्मणा । विधिना कर्मणा चैव स्वर्गमार्गमवाप्लुयात्,मनुष्य दैवके उत्थानसे आरम्भ किये हुए पुरुषार्थसे उत्तम विधि और शास्त्रोक्त सत्कर्मसे ही स्वर्गलोकका मार्ग पा सकता है
abhyutthānena daivasya samārabdhena karmaṇā | vidhinā karmaṇā caiva svargamārgam avāpnuyāt ||
ビーシュマは言った。「固い決意をもって起ち上がり、定められた理にかなうように行いを起こし、正しい作法と聖典の戒めに従って業を修めるなら、人は天界へ通ずる道を得る。この教えが示すのは、宿命が努力の代わりにはならぬということだ。徳にかなった規律ある行いこそが、より高き世界とより高き目的へ至る手段なのである。」
