Daiva–Puruṣakāra Inquiry: Fate and Human Effort

कृतं चाप्यकृतं किंचित्‌ कृते कर्मणि सिद्ध्यति | सुकृतं दुष्कृतं कर्म न यथार्थ प्रपद्यते

kṛtaṃ cāpy akṛtaṃ kiñcit kṛte karmaṇi siddhyati | sukṛtaṃ duṣkṛtaṃ karma na yathārthaṃ prapadyate ||

ビーシュマは語った。「より強い精進が起こされるなら、すでになしたことさえ、ある程度は“なさなかった”かのようになり得る。効力を得て果を結ぶのは、その強大な人の努力である。ゆえに、善業であれ悪業であれ、行為は常に単純に、完全に相応する形で結果をもたらすとは限らない。より力ある現在の精進によって、覆され、あるいは形を変えられることがある。」
