शौचं कृत्वा यथान्यायं प्राज्जलि: प्रयतो नृप: । आत्मानमाचचक्षे च च्यवनाय महात्मने,उन्होंने पवित्रभावसे हाथ जोड़कर मनको एकाग्र रखते हुए न्‍्यायोचित रीतिसे महात्मा च्यवनको अपना परिचय दिया

śaucaṃ kṛtvā yathānyāyaṃ prāñjaliḥ prayato nṛpaḥ | ātmānam ācacakṣe ca cyavanāya mahātmane ||

王は定められた浄めを法にかなって行い、合掌して敬意を示し、心を引き締めて、大徳チャヴァナ仙に自らの名と身分を告げた。この場面は、正しい行いが内外の清浄、謙虚さ、そして尊師の前での恭しい自己呈示から始まることを示している。
