Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)

अकृशो वायुभग्नाड्: शकुनिर्विकृतस्तथा । चतुष्पाद्‌ बहुरूपश्च पुनर्भवति बालिश:

akṛśo vāyubhagnāṅgaḥ śakunir vikṛtas tathā | catuṣpād bahurūpaś ca punar bhavati bāliśaḥ ||

ビーシュマは言った。「幾度もの生において、人はさまざまに変じた境遇で現れる。あるときは痩せ衰え、あるときは風の病(ヴァータ)に砕かれた身となり、あるときは鳥となり、あるときは醜く歪んだ姿となる。さらにまた、四足の獣となり、多くの姿を持つ者となり、ついには愚鈍な愚者となることさえある。」
