अन्न ते वर्तयिष्यामि इतिहासं पुरातनम् । यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन महात्मना,इस विषयमें मैं तुम्हें एक प्राचीन इतिहास बताऊँगा कि पूर्वकालमें महात्मा विपुलने किस प्रकार एक स्त्री (गुरुपत्नी)-की रक्षा की थी
anna te vartayiṣyāmi itihāsaṃ purātanam | yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṃ vipulena mahātmanā ||
ビーシュマは言った。「愛しき者よ、汝に古の物語を語ろう――昔、大いなる魂を持つヴィプラ（Vipula）が、師の妻なる一人の女をいかに守護したかを。正しく護りがなされたその次第を聞け。これは、ダルマが現実に働くさまの範である。」
