Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: mene divi-stham ātmānaṃ tuṣṭyā paramayā yutaḥ.

Educational Q&A

Supreme contentment (paramā tuṣṭi) born of purified understanding and the guidance of sages can make one feel 'heaven-established'—pointing to an ethical ideal where inner clarity and dharmic insight yield peace independent of external circumstances.

As Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates, Bhīṣma listens to the words of sages/ṛṣis; their pure and elevating counsel leaves him profoundly satisfied, and he comes to regard himself as already dwelling in heaven.
