अत-#-#क+ षड्विशो<5ध्याय: श्रीगड़ाजीके माहात्म्यका वर्णन वैशम्पायन उवाच बृहस्पतिसमं बुद्ध्या क्षमया ब्रह्मण: समम् । पराक्रमे शक्रसममादित्यसमतेजसम्
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bṛhaspati-samaṁ buddhyā kṣamayā brahmaṇaḥ samam | parākrame śakra-samam āditya-sama-tejasam ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「ジャナメージャヤよ。ブリハスパティ（Bṛhaspati）に等しい叡智、ブラフマー（Brahmā）に等しい忍耐、シャクラ（Śakra＝インドラ）に等しい武勇、そして太陽に等しい光輝を備え、みずからの掟を決して踏み外さぬ大光明のガンガーの子ビーシュマは、アルジュナの手により倒され、英雄の矢の床に横たわって定められた時を待っていた。王ユディシュティラが兄弟たちや他の者とともに様々に問いかけていたその折、多くの天なる大聖仙がビーシュマを拝するために訪れた。」
